Sassi Holford Sheffield - A Designer Profile
We are the luckiest bridal shop in Sheffield no where else in South Yorkshire stocks the leading English designer, Sassi Holford.
Sassi Holford, creates classic wedding gowns with a contemporary edge. Exquisite lines and sumptuous fabrics echo the bride’s own style, and nothing is spared in the structure and the detail to provide the renowned Holford cut and fit
Although Sassi is constantly designing for her international collections and for her runway shows, Sassi still takes most of her inspiration from her clients: “I love enhancing the female shape. Brides want to walk up the aisle feeling their most beautiful, and the right wedding dress can achieve that. It has to have a little bit of theatre!” Sassi is very much a ‘less is more’ designer letting the flattering lines of her gowns speak for themselves: “Above all else, designing and making wedding gowns has to be a passion, and you must never forget the unique importance of her dress to every bride,” she says. All the gowns are handmade by Sassi’s first-class team in her studios in Somerset; above are best-sellers from Sassi’s ravishing 2011 collection.
The inspiration behind the Collection
Sassi draws her inspiration from all around her: from fashion, textiles and interior design but above all from her brides and her desire to create their dream dress. Sassi has returned to the 1940s for fabrics that are unashamedly romantic, so look out for slipper satin, vintage lace and silk georgette giving that feel of sheer luxury.
The re-emergence of the statement fashion accessory, such as hair pieces and costume jewellery, has been translated by Sassi into feature detailing. She uses belts, bows and tails enhanced by diamanté appliqué and brooches to create the perfect finishing statement. Sweetheart is the key neckline with eye-catching straps and flattering, fitted bodices creating impact. Dramatic skirt shapes are very important: fit with a very full flare, fishtail and ballgown. Fabrics such as silk organza and silk poult are very much about luxurious texture and are being used for layering and delicate draping.

Another beautiful Suzanne Neville Bride
Debra wore Honour by Suzanne Neville. The beautiful silk taffeta and exquiste tailoring flattered Debra perfectly.
Debra and her lovely husband Neill were married at Hodsock Priory a stunning family owned house in the Nottinghamshire countryside. Hodsock Priory is fast becoming a venue of choice for Freya Brides. I have to say that the elegance and simplicity of the Suzanne Neville gowns complement this venue perfectly.
Debra obviously being a lady with an eye for quality and detail chose James Stewart to photograph her special day. She could not have been in safer hands, James has yet again captured some beautifully unique and timeless images.
Thank you Debra for being a simply elegant Freya Bride.

Holly Willoughby wears a Suzanne Neville Gown
Holly Willoughby looked fabulous on Dancing on Ice recently, in a stunning, black lace Suzanne Neville gown. The stylish presenter showed off her enviable figure in the fitted gown of dusty pink satin, overlaid with fine black lace and Suzanne Neville's tradmark corsetry showed off Holly's gorgeous, feminine curves.

Freya Bridal Photoshoot
A huge thank you to Richard from Capture My Life photography. We had a wonderful time and he took some great photographs of gowns by Suzanne Neville, Sassi Holford and Augusta Jones.
The makeup and hair was styled by Polly Jensen. Who in our opinion is one of the best stylist in Sheffield.
